The Truth About Jack

You do not know jack ( You Do not Know Jack ) is a TV movie American directed by Barry Levinson , distributed to United States in April 2010 on HBO . In France, the telefilm was broadcast in September 2010 on Orange Cinémax , and in December 2011 on Ciné + Premier .

The film is based on the life of Jack Kevorkian , nicknamed D r Death .

Synopsis

In the early 1990s in the United States, active euthanasia has no legal existence. Doctor Jack Kevorkian begins to practice assisted suicide on patients wishing to die: he manufactures a device that allows a patient to trigger a lethal injection himself. He is prosecuted several times, but wins every time.

Wishing to push the debate further, he eventually injected the lethal substances himself to a patient. His gesture is mediated by a report of the television program 60 Minutes . A new trial commits, which he loses this time. He is sentenced to several years in prison. He is released after eight years.
