Emma Anne Zimmer ( 14 of August of 1888 – 20 of September of 1948 ) was a boss of prisoners in the Ravensbrück concentration camp between 1939 and 1941 . She was the first woman in charge of the prisoners in Ravensbrück. It took an active role in the selection of prisoners for the gas chambers and at Bernberg , a euthanasia center near Berlin . He was known for his sadism and brutality towards the prisoners. She was sentenced to death for war crimes and hanged on September 20, 1948.
